At Linssen Wakesurf, we are inspired by the sport and fueled by creativity. The journey began when Kent, our founder, stumbled upon a video of Jake Owen wakesurfing. He was instantly captivated - he had never seen anything like it. To him, it looked like pure freedom on the water. Excited, he shared the video with a friend, who replied that he had been wakesurfing with a few others and invited Kent to join them. A few months later, Kent took him up on the offer - and the rest is history.

The water was just 42 degrees - it was April in Wisconsin - but no one seemed to care. True passion doesn’t wait for warm summer weather! The group wakesurfed every chance they got, often overnighting boards in new shapes and designs just to see how each one rode. After thousands of dollars spent on gear, it became clear: this was not just a hobby - it was a lifestyle.

That was when an idea sparked for Kent; What if he could shape and design his own boards? From a young age, he developed a strong foundation in art, constantly building, creating with his hands, and taking art lessons. That creative drive carried through to adulthood, where he now owns and operates a successful flooring and general contracting business. The progression from early art lessons to remodeling homes, and eventually to designing and shaping wakesurf boards, felt like a natural progression. Creating from scratch is simply in his blood.

Kent dove headfirst into the craft, studying countless videos from seasoned shapers in Maui and dedicating hundreds of hours to research and development. It took years of trial and error, but every moment was worth it. Today, each board he shapes reflects a blend of hard-earned skill, creative vision, and deep passion for the sport.

Today, we take pride in pushing the boundaries of wakesurf design, crafting high-performance boards for everyone from first-time riders to seasoned pros. We are always exploring new shapes, materials, and techniques, pouring our heart and soul into every board we build.

A portion of every purchase goes toward supporting wakesurf events, training programs for all ages, and giving back to the community.
